About

Anjana Bhargava, an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor uses natural methods of healing through herbs and spices. She offers Ayurvedic Consultation, Marma Pressure Point Therapy, Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis and Ayurvedic cooking using Ayurvedic principles based on five elements and their combination. Anjana incorporates integrative approach with diet, lifestyle, pranayama, meditation, and Mantra(sound) therapy in healing methods. Anjana has experienced medicinal and therapeutics benefits using Ayurvedic herbs and spices in her daily life for more than 25 years.

Anjana started her career in the corporate world working for some of the well-known names in Silicon Valley after completing her Masters in Electronics. She soon moved into the world of finance and wealth management, managing portfolios, stock and bonds and insurance products for Metlife. In spite of a meteoric rise in her career she felt she was losing her links to her roots and her culture. As an avid reader of the ancient Vedas she wanted to do more with the Eastern sciences and bring it to the communities around Chicago.

Anjana soon formed a community and chapters around the ancient teachings of the vedas along with her corporate responsibilities. However, the birth of her daughter brought new challenges. Western medicine would just not work on the allergies and disorders the baby had. Unwilling to make her child a human experiment for trial and error remedies Anjana started dwelling deeper in the science of Ayurveda.

Her experience in Silicon Valley and Wall Street companies had instilled in her a discipline and a Scientific and Engineering regimen that she brought to the world of Ayurveda. She left her promising Wall Street career to focus on Ayurvedic wellness full-time. Upon moving to Boston Anjana established the Aryavedic Wellness group that focuses on multiple Ayurvedic techniques that focus on the source of the ailments versus treating the symptoms. She is now an active Ayurvedic practitioner with multiple certifications, helping others across the USA lead more wholesome lives. She combines Ayurvedic techniques with Yoga and exercises that not only addresses the causes but also build the bodies resistance and strength to achieve an overall wellness goal.

She was also appalled to learn that doctors in the US receive less than 40 hours of instruction on nutrition on average across their 6 -10 year education. This leaves doctors woefully unequipped to discuss the effect of nutrition on a body. Anjana has since added Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition aspects to her portfolio.

She now runs multiple seminars and workshops at many institutions on the East-Coast and the Midwest. She also acts as a counselor and volunteer at numerous institutions including the Council of Aging in Weston MA, in Newton, Lexington, Burlington, Wayland and Natick etc.

She also has a passion for the arts and is a painter and teacher of Madhubani Artwork (folk art from Bihar, India) and her work has been displayed at various venues and galleries including the renowned Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. It is an intrinsic part of her research into the ancient Indian culture that combined art, diet, medicine and yoga into a wholistic way of life with one skill building on the other. Today we have forgotten a lot of the ancient truths of healing, mindfulness and nourishing the soul through art and have replaced it with instant gratification.

Thankfully more and more of us are rediscovering the ancient science of living more holistically with a re-emergence of ancient practices like yoga, Ayurveda and mindfulness. Anjana believes that by empowering body-mind-soul connection, one can achieve balanced health and wellness. She offers her services in-person and through skype/online.

Anjana lives with her husband and daughter in Boston, Massachusetts.
